Riverdale cast: Riverdale Season 5 cast exits

Skeet Ulrich: Perhaps the biggest departure heading into Riverdale season 5 is that of Skeet Ulrich. After four seasons of playing Southside Serpent turned Riverdale sheriff FP Jones, Ulrich has announced he will be departing the show and will not return as a series regular in season 5. Fortunately, Ulrich will return for the show’s first three episodes to finish the stories originally set to be told in final episodes of season 4 and to give FP a proper send-off.

Marisol Nichols: Much like Ulrich, ahead of season 5, Marisol Nichols announced she would be exiting the show and would not return as Hermoine Lodge. Fortunately, after additional conversations with Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Nichols was persuaded into sticking around, albeit it in a lesser role than in previous seasons.

Ashleigh Leigh Murray: After appearing as part of the Riverdale cast throughout Riverdale seasons 1-3 as musician Josie McCoy, Ashleigh Leigh Murray departed the flagship series in order to join the cast of Katy Keene. Unfortunately, Josie’s story came to an abrupt conclusion with The CW’s decision to cancel Katy Keene after just one season. While it’s possible Josie might make her way back to Riverdale following the show’s time jump, there are currently no confirmed plans for Murray to return.

The Katy Keene Cast: As mentioned above, Riverdale‘s offshoot Katy Keene unfortunately was not renewed for a second season and will not be returning for another go-around on The CW. Due to the show’s cancellation, we won’t get the chance to witness the progression of the show’s characters with no current plans for Lucy Hale (Katy Keene), Julia Chan (Pepper Smith), Jonny Beauchamp (Jorge/Ginger Lopez), or any of the Katy Keene cast to reprise their roles in Riverdale season 5 outside of Zane Holtz’s confirmed guest appearance as KO Kelly.
