Fans of Gossip Girl were overjoyed when it was announced that a reboot of the series was in production. According to IMDb, the sequel series will also be titled Gossip Girl.

The original series starred Leighton Meester as Blair Waldorf, Blake Lively as Serena van der Woodsen, Penn Badgley as Dan Humphrey, Chace Crawford as Nate Archibald, and Ed Westwick as Chuck Bass.

As reported by Elle, the reboot will take place eight years after the original series’ 2009 finale. The new show will follow a new group of Upper East Side private schoolers who must contend with scandals, love triangles, and social pressure made even worse by the emergence of social media.

Deadline confirmed that the reboot will star Emily Alyn Lind, Jason Gotay, Johnathan Fernandez, Eli Brown, and Whitney Peak. The reboot will consist of 10 episodes.

Lind will play a character named Audrey, described as a girl in a long-term relationship who starts to wonder about what else life has to offer. No other character names or descriptions have been released, but it was announced that Peak, Brown, and Lind will be the leading triad of the reboot, with Fernandez and Gotay serving as members of the core ensemble cast.

If you’re wondering if the show‘s reboot will be on Netflix, then you’ve come to the right place.

Is the Gossip Girl reboot going to be on Netflix?

Unfortunately, the Gossip Girl reboot will not be available on Netflix when it premieres. The series will premiere on HBO Max. Since it was specifically ordered for that streaming service, I think it’s highly unlikely that the reboot will be on Netflix anytime soon.

The show was initially due to premiere in fall 2020, but due to production delays because of coronavirus, the reboot will not come out until 2021.
