It’s most definitely worth staying up to watch Van Helsing season 4. We don’t just get Vanessa’s next stage of her journey but the next step for so many other characters who have become important to us over the years. We also meet a few new faces, including the one and only Dracula.

Where Van Helsing season 4 picks up

The second 3 final certainly had us in tears. Vanessa did the one thing she thought she needed to: kill her sister. Vanessa had to do something dark in an attempt to stop Sam, but it turned out she was tricked.

Naturally, Axel was angry. He and Scarlett had finally got together, allowing themselves to be open and honest with one another in this crazy world filled with vampires. We had so much hope, and it was all shattered. Okay, we knew Missy Peregrym would have to come out of the show somehow, but did we really expect this?

Vanessa had also taken a trip to the past, where she became her ancestor, Lillian Van Helsing. We learned more about Lillian and the Van Helsing curse. The third season ended with Lillian coming back from the dead, so the fourth season picks up with that. Lillian and Vanessa will now need to work together to end the world of vampires.

Sam has now become the Fourth Elder, but he’s not as predictable as the Oracle probably wanted. We knew this was going to happen, right? Expect a lot more Sam throughout the fourth season, and Christopher Heyerdahl is just as awesome as he has always been.
