The Haunting of Bly Manor is coming to Netflix this fall

We have some exciting news for fans of Netflix’s original series The Haunting of Hill House! The second season of The Haunting anthology will be released this fall. Netflix just shared the first look at and poster for The Haunting of Bly Manorwhich is also created by Hill House creator and showrunner Mike Flanagan.

The Haunting of Hill House was based on works of Shirley Jackson’s 1959 novel. It was a huge success which has inspired the creation of the anthology series at Netflix.

The Haunting of Bly Manor will be inspired by the works of Henry James, which includes his 1898 novel The Turn of the Screw.  This novel follows a governess who is taking care of two children in a haunted country estate.  Flanagan told Games Radar that he would not only use The Turn of the Screw for his source material but all of the ghost stories of James. It sounds like we will get a great telling of multiple ghost stories for the second season.

In addition to the creator, The Haunting of Bly Manor will have another unique tie to The Haunting of Hill House. Victoria Pedretti, Henry Thomas, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and Kate Siegel, who all starred in the first season, will also star in the second season. They will all play different characters in a different storyline, of course.

New faces joining the cast are Rahul Kohli, T’Nia Miller, Catherine Parker, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Amelie Smith, and Amelia Eve.

Flanagan’s other recent projects include Doctor Sleep, a film based on the Stephen King novel of the same name that is a direct sequel to The Shining.  He is also working on a new Netflix original horror series, Midnight Mass
