Lucifer season 5, part 1 is full of heart as it focuses on its characters

The first part of Lucifer season 5 puts its characters and their stories front and center, and it quickly becomes easy to see why the season has been broken into two parts.

While some fans were glad to learn Lucifer season 5 would be broken into two parts, others worried about the story of Lucifer Morningstar. We all love these characters so much, we don’t want their stories dragged along for length or cut short.

Rest assured, the first half of season 5 quickly explains why this chapter is best told in two parts. What’s to love? Does the story feel rushed? Is Luci as devilishly charming as ever? Read on below for our spoiler-free Lucifer season 5, part 1 review!

Once again, please note that while we may tease a thing or two, there are no significant spoilers in this review that will ruin your experience.

Lucifer season 5, part 1: The stride and story

Season 5 begins a few months after season 4. The first episode quickly catches us up on each of our beloved characters, mainly Luci, Chloe, Maze, and Amenadiel. It’s very well-paced and not once do we worry about timing.

Each episode falls right under 60 minutes (with the exception of episode 8, “Spoiler Alert,” which runs 62 minutes). Every single minute is worth it, but be warned that not all minutes are full of fun and laughs. Season 5, part 1 digs into many of the character’s feelings (and yours), and not just Chloe and Luci.

Fans will greatly appreciate the Lucifer writers dedicating episodes to characters such as Ellan, Linda, and Maze. These girls are as tough as they come, you’ll only love them more after watching their stories.

As much as we miss seeing Luci and Chloe together, it’s a lot of fun watching Chloe and Maze bond. If you loved season 2, episode 4, “Lady Parts,” there’s more where that came from. Seriously, we need more girl’s night out episodes.
