Directed by Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost and written by Mattson Tomlin, Project Power came to Netflix this month. Starring Jamie Foxx, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Dominique Fishback, the action movie follows a drug dealer, a former soldier, and a cop as they work together to stop the production and distribution of a drug that gives the taker superpowers for five minutes.

If you loved Project Power, here are five movies with a similar vibe that you can watch on Netflix.

1. The Old Guard

Starring Charlize Theron, The Old Guard tells the story of a group of centuries-old mercenaries with regenerative abilities. When the immortal team is targeted by an elite group of assassins trying to eliminate their power, they set out on a revenge mission. Like Project Power, The Old Guard is gritty, fast-paced, and has sci-fi elements in the plot.

2. Acts of Violence

Acts of Violence stars Bruce Willis as Detective James Avery, a character who gets involved with a mission to take down a drug trafficking ring after a man’s fiancé is kidnapped. In order to succeed in the deadly operation, they must give it everything they have. Similar to Project Power, Acts of Violence features tons of action.

3. Time Trap

Time Trap follows a group of students as they investigate the disappearance of their missing professor. While searching in a remote area of Texas, the students discover a mysterious cave where time and space are not what they seem. Like Project Power, Time Trap features a perilous journey and sci-fi themes.

4. The Last Days of American Crime

Based on Rick Remender and Greg Tocchini’s graphic novel of the same name, The Last Days of American Crime is about a criminal who decides to commit one final heist before the government sends out a mind-altering signal that negates illegal behavior. Much like Project Power, The Last Days of American Crime is a thriller dealing with illicit acts.

5. Splice

Splice is definitely the creepiest movie on this list. The film follows two scientists who decide to go against the instruction of their superiors and create an experimental human-animal hybrid. While at first, the project is a success, the scientists quickly realize that their creation is more powerful and uncontrollable than either of them could imagine. Splice is like Project Power in that it features suspense and sci-fi concepts.
