Another show that is licensed to Netflix is Van Helsing, a SYFY series that involves vampires. I guess with the title “Van Helsing” that was always going to be clear.

The series is based on a graphic novel of the same name and follows Vanessa Van Helsing, the latest descendent of Abraham Van Helsing. She’s destined to protect the world against vampires, which are certainly overrunning the world!

Van Helsing picks up three years after the eruption of Yellowstone Caldera, which led to a blanket of ash cloud covering the entire country. Blocking the sun, those with the vampire virus were able to come outside during the day and quickly took over.

When Vanessa wakes from a coma, she learns about her unknown destiny. With her blood, she can turn vampires human and has superhuman strength and speed. She is the Earth’s only hope, but is she willing to fight? Her main focus is to get her daughter back.

There are plenty of characters introduced along the way, including Axel, Doc, and Flesh. This is one of those shows that will always throw you for a loop, and you’ll be impressed with the character development from start to the current season.

Van Helsing season 5 is confirmed as the final season. There is no premiere date on SYFY yet, so we don’t know when it will come to Netflix.
