The 100

We’ll start with one of the Netflix shows licensed by Netflix in the U.S. It’s not clear how long Netflix will have the streaming rights for The CW series once it comes to an end later this year, but it will be for a few years. In Canada and some other locations, The 100 is a Netflix Original with a weekly release.

The series, based on the books by Kass Morgan, is about a hundred teenagers who are sent to Earth from a ship in space. It’s been 97 years since the world came to an end, and the people on the Arc need to know if Earth is habitable again after the nukes went off.

The adults decide the under-18s who have been imprisoned are the best ones to head to Earth. If they survive, they get to live. If they die, well, they were possibly going to be executed once they turned 18 anyway.

Over the course of seven seasons, we’ve watched the group of teenagers grow up and figure out how to survive. They quickly learned they weren’t the only people on Earth and had to learn how they were going to live with those other people.

The seventh and final season will head to Netflix in just a few months. This season includes the prequel backdoor pilot, which will hopefully be picked up to series.
