Gossip Girl isn’t the same genre as Sweet Magnolias, but these shows are basically cousins of the TV drama. Gossip Girl has a lot of heart, but it’s set in the ruthless world of the Upper East Side.

Sweet Magnolias can be equally ruthless but in a small-town kind of way.

The series has an incredible cast with Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Chace Crawford, Penn Badgley, Taylor Momsen, Kelly Rutherford, Matthew Settle, Jessica Szohr, and Kaylee DeFer.

The series follows the lives of teenagers living very high-end lifestyles while someone known as the “Gossip Girl” is trying to bring them down by exposing their secrets.
