Virgin River season 1 ending explained
Virgin River was the series no one saw coming, and it instantly stole fans hearts. Big city girl Mel made her way to a sleepy Northern California town, and fell in love with Jack, a hunky barman. But small towns are not always the equivalent of simplicity, and Mel found herself having ups and downs just as she did back in Los Angeles. By the ending of Virgin River season 1, fans were left with a major cliffhanger.
What happened at the end of Virgin River season 1?
The finale sees Mel packing up her stuff, preparing to leave Virgin River forever. Though she loves Jack, she feels their relationship won’t work, and his attempts at changing her mind fall on deaf ears.
Meanwhile, Paige Lassiter’s ex-husband who had she tried to escape from turned up in town looking for her. The episode drops hints that Paige might have been kidnapped after she suspiciously goes missing.
It isn’t all dramatics in the final episode, though. On a high note, Hope and Doc are able to find their way back to each other, and intend on giving marriage another go.
All in all, Virgin River season 1 left fans with several cliffhangers and lingering questions. Will Jack and Mel’s new romance survive? And where is Paige? Thankfully, Virgin River season two has been filmed and is expected to be released sometime in 2020.
The even better news? Virgin River has already been renewed for season 3, so we’ll be seeing much more of Mel and the gang for some time to come!
