Virgin River is coming back for season 3 at Netflix

We haven’t even seen Virgin River season 2 yet, but that didn’t stop Netflix from renewing Virgin River for season 3!

According to a report from What’s on Netflix, Virgin River season 3 is officially happening. The series was included in the latest issue of Production Weekly, and filming was scheduled to start in August.

We don’t know if the new season of the series will actually start filming in August. With everything going on related to the coronavirus, I wouldn’t count on it, but it’s possible, I guess.

The situation with the coronavirus is looking a lot better in Canada than it is in the US, so it’s possible that filming could actually happen. I’m a little skeptical about that, but it’s possible.

Virgin River season 2 should be added to Netflix in the near future. Filming was completed on season 2 at the end of 2019, which means the Netflix original series should be ready for release later this year.

UPDATE: Virgin River season 2 is coming to Netflix on Nov. 27, 2020.

Virgin River season 3 release date on Netflix

If Virgin River season 3 is able to be filmed this fall, there’s a good chance we could see the release date sometime in the summer or fall of 2021. The longer we wait for season 2, though, the longer we’ll have to wait for season 3.

With TV production still shut down around the US and Canada, I’m guessing Virgin River season 3 will not be ready anytime soon. I’d guess sometime 2022 is the more likely release date timeframe for the season.
