New Netflix movies and shows coming to Netflix in August 2020

August is already starting to look like a great month for Netflix! There are a bunch of new Netflix movies and shows coming to the streaming service in August 2020, and there’s more than a few that you definitely won’t want to miss.

Early in the month, Netflix adds The Rain season 3 on Thursday, Aug. 6.  One day later, Netflix adds Work It, a new Netflix original film starring Jordan Fisher, Sabrina Carpenter, Liza Koshy, Keiynan Lonsdale, Drew Ray Tanner, and Michelle Buteau, on Friday, Aug. 7.

Right now, the biggest day of the month looks like it will be Friday, Aug. 14. There are four big Netflix movies and shows heading to Netflix that day, including Project Power, a new more starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jamie Foxx, Machina Gun Kelly, Amy Landecker, Courtney B. Vance, Rodrigo Santoro, and more.

The Great Heist, 3% season 4, and Teenage Bounty Hunters are coming to Netflix on Aug. 14, as well.

Most of the big new releases are coming later in the month. Lucifer season 5, part 1 is definitely going to be the biggest new release of the month. Fans have been for more than a year to see new episodes of Lucifer, and we can’t wait to see what Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich have planned.

Lucifer season 5, part 1 will consist of eight episodes. There are eight more episodes coming to Netflix in season 5, but those episodes probably won’t be added until next year. Lucifer was also just renewed for a sixth and final season on Netflix.

Netflix hasn’t shared the full list of new movies and shows on the way in August. We’ll update this list when Netflix shares the full list with us.
