The Haunting of Bly Manor Netflix release date won’t be delayed due to COVID-19

Good news, The Haunting fans! If you were worried that the novel coronavirus pandemic might affect the release of season 2 of The Haunting of Hill House, a.k.a. The Haunting of Bly Manor, you can finally exhale. Yes. That’s right. It’s safe to breathe a sigh of relief as The Haunting of Bly Manor is still coming this year.

We needed a little bit of good news, didn’t we? After all, we were right to be concerned.

As we’re all aware, the coronavirus has impacted all aspects of life, even filming. All sorts of Netflix productions were halted, including Stranger Things season 4, The Witcher season 2 and Grace and Frankie season 7.

We knew The Haunting of Bly Manor was coming sometime in 2020, likely October, and we knew filming had wrapped at the end of February. However, there was uncertainty about whether COVID-19 would stall post-production progress, but it appears not.

Screen Rant reports Mike Flanagan, The Haunting of Bly Manor creator, recently appeared on  ReelBlend podcast and said, “I don’t expect it to be delayed one bit.”

“It” being the release The Haunting season 2.

He also revealed that like so many others who’ve found themselves working at home, his team has been able to accomplish everything via virtual sessions too.

Fantastic!

I know we’re all curious to see what he does in the second installment of what we now know will become a horror anthology series. Flanagan has teased that it will be even scarier than season 1. Gulp! But we wouldn’t have it any other way, would we?

Returning stars include Victoria Pedretti, Henry Thomas, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Kate Siegel. Newcomers include T’Nia Miller, Catherine Parker, Rahul Kohli, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Amelie Smith, and Amelia Eve.

We know it will be loosely based on The Turn of the Screw, an 1898 horror novella by Henry James. We also know we’ll once again be invited into a haunted house.

Beyond that, we don’t know much. Except that our wait for the follow-up to the first season of The Haunting of Hill House won’t be delayed because the move into The Haunting of Bly Manor is on schedule.

Next. 10 recently canceled Netflix shows that should have been saved. dark
