Netflix shares the list of the 10 most popular Netflix movies to date

Netflix just shared the list of the most popular Netflix movies, and Extraction starring Chris Hemsworth tops the list, according to a report from Deadline.

Netflix shared the list of movies ahead of its second quarter earnings report.

Other notable movies included on the list are Bird Box, which ranks no. 2, Spenser Confidential, which ranks no. 3, and 6 Underground, which ranks no. 4. Murder Mystery starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston is listed as the fifth most popular title on the list of Netflix movies.

We know at least two of those movies are getting sequels, Extraction and Bird Box. I wouldn’t be surprised if Spenser Confidential and 6 Underground also get sequels at Netflix!

Overall, it looks like this list only accounts for viewership in the first four weeks since the release. We don’t know how many viewers watched these movies outside of that window or all time.

It’s interesting that two of the most popular Netflix movies aren’t on this list, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and The Kissing Booth. I would have guessed those movies were more popular than some of the movies on this list, especially The Wrong Missy, The Platform and The Perfect Date! 

But, because this list only accounts for views in the first four weeks of a movie release, this makes sense. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and The Kissing Booth were definitely some of those movies that spread by word of mouth/social media for several weeks and months after they were released. That’s probably why they didn’t make the list.

I enjoyed most of the movies on this list, especially the top seven. They all have some flaws. The Irishman is probably the best movie on the list, but it’s basically like two days long. It’ll take you a while to finish it!
