Jurassic Park and five free movies to watch on Peacock now

NBC’s new streaming service, Peacock, just launched on Wednesday, July 15. And, guess what? It’s free!

To help you find something to watch on Peacock, we shared a list of five good movies available to stream right now and for free!

Unfortunately, not all the movies and shows are free. You do have to subscribe to the Premium and Premium Plus (ad-free) plans for the full library of shows and movies. But, there are thousands of hours of free movies and shows available to stream right now.

Overall, Peacock doesn’t have a great selection of free movies and shows. There are some really good titles, though, and we shared some of those below.

There are a bunch of big movies and shows heading to Peacock in the near future, including The Office, which is leaving Netflix soon.

5 free movies to watch on Peacock right now

Jurassic Park

Jurassic Park is available to stream on Peacock for free! This is your chance to watch one of the best movies of the ’90s (and all time!) for free! Chances like these don’t come around too often.

Directed by Stephen Speilberg and starring Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum. Jurassic Park tells the story of scientists who clone dinosaurs on a remote island. When an intentional power outage lets the dinosaurs free, the visitors do what they can to stay alive.

From the looks of things, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III are also available to stream for free on Peacock right now.

Do the Right Thing

Do the Right Thing is one of Spike Lee’s best movies. The film premiered in theaters in 1989. It stars Danny Aiello, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, Richard Edson, Giancarlo Esposito, Bill Nunn, John Turturro, and Samuel L. Jackson, along with Lee.

The movie tells the story of Brooklyn residents on a summer day in the city where tensions are running high. It highlights a variety of issues, including racism, income inequality, gentrification, and more.

The themes of Do the Right Thing and the issues presented in the film are still very relevant today. If you haven’t seen this movie, you need to watch it right now on Peacock.

The Matrix

The Matrix is now streaming for free on Peacock on launch day. We don’t know how long the movie will be available to stream, so you better watch this movie soon.

If you haven’t seen The Matrix, we highly recommend the movie that stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Laurence Fishburne, Hugo Weaving and more.

Peacock also added the second movie, The Matrix Reloaded, and the third movie, The Matrix Revolutions. There’s a fourth movie in the works now, too!

Short Term 12

Short Term 12 is my favorite movie on the list, and it’s the only movie I bet most of you haven’t seen yet. The film premiered in 2009, and it’s written and directed by Destin Daniel Crestin.

The movie tells the story of the counselors and teens at a home for troubled youth.

Short Term 12 has an amazing cast that includes Brie Larson, John Gallagher, Jr., Kaitlyn Dever, Rami Malek, Lakeith Stanfield, Kevin Hernandez, Melora Walters, and Stephanie Beatriz. That’s a ton of talent in this indie movie.

The Bourne Identity

The Bourne Identity is another movie on the list that I’m sure almost everyone has seen. The movie was released in 2002 and its stars Matt Damon as Jason Bourne.

The character is suffering from memory loss, but it’s clear that he is a special agent of some kind. The CIA tries to track down Bourne, while he tries to remain free, alive, and find out who he is.

More good news! The second and third Bourne movies, The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, are also available to stream on Peacock for free!
