It’s time to watch a Christmas movie in July. That’s not all that crazy, is it? Last Christmas is heading to HBO Max tonight.

There isn’t long to wait for it. While HBO Max is new, we’ve noticed the releases are happening at midnight ET. That means those on the west coast will likely get to watch it at 9 p.m. on Friday, July 10.

It is going to be odd watching a Christmas movie in July, but there’s been much stranger things this year. This is probably the perfect time to release the movie since so many people are still at home.

What is Last Christmas about?

Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke stars as Kate, a young woman who doesn’t really know what she’s doing in life. She’s working as an elf at a Christmas shop that is open throughout the year. Of course, she’s not the happiest in the job she’s in, but a job is a job.

One day, she meets Henry Golding’s Tom, a man who is just as sweet as he is handsome. Tom wants Kate to grasp life with both hands. It’s time to stop letting opportunities leave her, including getting the courage to get on stage and sing.

Throughout the movie, we get to see the couple’s romance blossom. It’s a beautiful love story that’s more than worth watching.

Hopefully, you haven’t had the twist at the end ruined for you. However, there were clues in the trailer!

This is one of those movies that audiences loved more than critics. It holds an 81% approval score from the audience on Rotten Tomatoes, despite the 46% score from the critics. If you love Christmas rom-coms, this is most definitely the movie for you.
