How long do we have to wait until The Order season 3 comes to Netflix?

If you have already managed to binge-watch your way through all 10 episodes of The Order season 2, you’ve come to the right place. Below, we shared everything we know about when The Order season 3 is coming to Netflix.

The fantasy horror series shocked fans last month when it was announced season 2 would be dropping on June 18. Prior to this announcement, Netflix had been relatively quiet about the original series, other than the announcement of it being renewed following its debut season.

It’s too early to tell when The Order season 3 will be added to Netflix as season 2 has only just dropped, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if Netflix followed a similar release pattern for season 3. The fate of the series has not been made yet, but we shouldn’t have too long to wait.

Assuming The Order is renewed for season 3, we’ll probably see the new season about 14 or 15 months after the season 2 release date. So, that’d be like late summer or early fall of 2021.

That release date doesn’t take into account any major delays because of the novel coronavirus, which has shut down film and TV production all over the world for the past few months.

Will Netflix renew The Order season 3?

The average time for a renewal announcement is around a month and half from the release date. So, I wouldn’t expect anything until mid-August. If the series does get the renewal, and if you have watched the latest season you know we definitely need another season, don’t be surprised if we get zero details about season 3 until we’re a month away from being released.

Honestly, I’m a little worried about this show. Netflix has canceled a lot of shows after two or three seasons. Sense 8, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, Insatiable, Hemlock Grove, and the list goes on and on.

While The Order certainly has more story to tell, what goes against the series is the little promotion it received in the run-up to season 2. It gives the impression the streaming network is, maybe, not fully committed to the original series. If that’s the case, it could be canceled.

At this point, we’ll have to wait and see. It would be great to see the series come back for another season. That’s what we’re hoping for! It’d be great to see Netflix give the series a chance to wrap up the story at the very least, rather than leaving us with questions unanswered.
