E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial makes its comeback to Netflix for families and children of all ages to enjoy. Pass the pop culture favorite down to a new generation when the classic movie arrives as one of June’s best new additions.

When a young boy Elliott (Henry Thomas) discovers a gentle alien who has been stranded on Earth, he brings E.T. home to his family. His siblings, including younger sister Gertie (Drew Barrymore), decide to keep E.T.’s existence a secret, but after the alien comes down with an illness, the government becomes involved and prompts an alarming situation for both Elliott and E.T. Of course, the movie features all of the heartwarming moments and famous quotes fans have known and loved for over 30 years.

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial comes from director Steven Spielberg, who also directed such famous blockbusters as Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan and many, many more. The film holds a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and made over $792 million worldwide, making it a bonafide hit. E.T was nominated for nine Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and has left behind an enviable legacy. Mark your calendar for E.T.’s return home to Netflix when the classic movie begins streaming at the top of the month.
