The 35 best new movies and TV shows coming to Netflix in June 2020

After a couple of stacked months of popular new releases taking up space on our minds and watch lists, Netflix keeps the ball rolling into summer with another winning list of fresh movies and TV shows coming in June. From the final season of a polarizing hit original series to a handful of throwback movies, there’s something for everyone to binge in the early days of summer.

First up this month, Netflix hits us with a double whammy of farewells as we say goodbye to both 13 Reasons Why and Fuller House, two original series that have kept fans tuning in for years. We should also save room for new seasons of The Politician, Pose, F Is for Family, Queer Eye, and Roswell, New Mexico among many others. But if you’re looking to kill a few hours with some movies, titles like Lady Bird, Wasp Network, Twister, and Clueless are among the month’s best.

Keri Russell stars in Dark Skies as Lacy Barrett, who lives a seemingly peaceful life in the suburbs with her husband Daniel (Josh Hamilton) and their two children. Of course, their peaceful life becomes threatened when a series of strange and horrifying events shatter their suburban illusion. Lacy and Daniel soon understand their family has been targeted by a deadly alien threat, prompting them to summon the bravery to keep their family secure and identify their enemy.

Dark Skies comes from director Scott Stewart, who also directed such movies as Legion, Priest, and Holidays. Upon release, the film earned a mixed reception from critics, holding a 41% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Dark Skies made $26.4 million at the box office against its budget of $3.5 million. Get your summer started with a good science fiction scare when the horror movie begins streaming on Netflix on June 22, two days after the official first day of summer.
