Watch National Treasure and these Disney Plus movies on Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend 2020 is here, and we picked five good Disney Plus movies for you to watch over the holiday weekend.

We know how hard it is to find something to watch, especially these days when so many people have been streaming movies and shows non-stop for several weeks and months.

Luckily, Disney Plus has a good selection of movies, old and new, for you to check out this Memorial Day Weekend. Of course, you need a Disney Plus subscription to watch all these movies this weekend.

Let’s get the list started with National Treasure!

National Treasure

If you want to a take a Hollywood tour of United States history on Memorial Day Weekend, National Treasure is the movie for you.

The film tells the story of Benjamin Franklin Gates, played by Nicolas Cage, and his quest to find hidden treasure. His first task is to steal the Declaration of Independence and find the treasure map on the back!

National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets is also available to stream on Disney Plus.

Even better news! Disney is developing a National Treasure TV series about younger treasure hunters, and National Treasure 3 is also in the works!

Captain America: The First Avenger

Captain America: The First Avenger is the perfect movie to watch on Disney Plus this weekend if you’re a fan of the Marvel movies. Even if you aren’t a fan of superhero movies, this is a great place to start!

Captain America: The First Avenger is the fifth film of the MCU movies, and it introduced audiences to Steve Rogers aka Captain America, played by Chris Evans. In the movie, which is set during World War II, Rogers becomes Captain America and tries to stop Red Skull, a Nazi.

This is one of my favorite Marvel movies, and I bet you’ll like it, too!

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker

The ninth film of the Star Wars Saga was added to Disney Plus on May 4, and we highly recommend watching the movie on Disney Plus this weekend if you still haven’t seen it.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker wraps the third trilogy. It tells the story of Rey and the rest of the Rebellion in their fight against the First Order. An old power threatens the Rebellion’s survival.

The Rise of Skywalker received mixed reviews when it premiered in theaters last December. While the story disappoints at times, the performances are outstanding!

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil was just added to Disney Plus on May 15. The film premiered in theaters in October 2019, and it’s the sequel to Maleficent, which premiered in 2014.

Mistress of Evil stars Angelina Jolie, and it tells the story of Maleficent and her quest to stop a Queen and her army from conquering all.

I haven’t had a chance to watch this movie yet, so I’m definitely checking out this weekend. I know it didn’t get great reviews, but I liked the first movie and Jolie’s character.

The Princess Bride

The Princess Bride is one of my favorite movies of all time. I recommended everybody watch the movie when it was added to Disney Plus at the beginning of May. Now, I’m recommending it again a few weeks later.

The Princess Bride is based on the book of the same name by William Goldman. It tells the story of Princess Buttercup, who is betrothed to Prince Humperdinck. When Buttercup is kidnapped, the Man in Black tries to rescue her.

There’s so much more to it than that, but you’ll see when you watch the movie. Of course, I’m aware that most people have seen this movie. It premiered in theaters in 1987 and is a classic, but I’m sure there are some youngsters yet to visit Florin.

That’s the list! We hope you find something to watch on Disney Plus on Memorial Day Weekend!
