The Princess Bride starring Robin Wright and Cary Elwes is now on Disney Plus

With the coronavirus pandemic and everything else going on the world right now, we need a classic, feel-good movie to watch. Luckily, Disney Plus has the perfect movie for us: The Princess Bride.

Based on the book of the same name by William Goldman, The Princess Bride tells the story of would-be Princess Buttercup (Robin Wright) who is kidnapped prior to her wedding to Prince Humperdinck in Florin. A Man in Black tries to do everything he can to rescue Princess Buttercup.

There’s so much more to it than that! Oh, and you need a Disney Plus subscription to watch the movie.

The Princess Bride was added to Disney Plus on May 1, and it’s as much of a must-watch Disney Plus has right now! It’s one of my personal favorites, and it works as a nice pick-me-up every time I’m feeling down.

The film was produced by 20th Century Fox and released in 1987. It’s not a Disney movie, but because Disney acquired all the 20th Century Fox titles, it’s available to stream on Disney Plus.

If you haven’t seen this movie, you have to check it out now! It might seem like a little bit of an acquired taste, but it’s so funny and so good!

Wright, Cary Elwes, Mandy Patinkin, Andre the Giant, Chris Sarandon, Christopher Guest, Wallace Shawn, Peter Falk, Fred Savage, and Billy Crystal star in the film, which was directed by Rob Reiner.

You’ll recognize Wright from Netflix’s House of Cards, and Elwes from Netflix’s Stranger Things 3, where he plays Mayor Kline.

We don’t know how long The Princess Bride will remain on Disney Plus, so it’s best to watch it as soon as possible so you don’t feel bad when it leaves the streaming service in the future.

If you need the perfect movie to watch on Disney Plus tonight, you can’t go wrong with The Princess Bride.

I also highly recommend reading Goldman’s book. It’s one of the most enjoyable and fun books I’ve ever read, and it’s better than the movie. I know, I know. I don’t mean to be that guy, but seriously, the book is so good.
