Lucifer season 5 showrunner promises a premiere date is coming soon

From the moment Netflix first announced plans for Lucifer season 5, fans have been waiting with bated breath for an official premiere date for the season. Given season 4 dropped arrived in early May 2019, the expectation, and hope, was season 5 would arrive around the same time.

When May came and went, all eyes shifted to June. Unfortunately, the stars did not align quite as we hoped as there was no sign of Lucifer on Netflix’s June release slate. Although Lucifer season 5 might not be coming to Netflix in June, it seems fans won’t have to wait much longer before finally getting some answers.

While it’s still unclear when season 5 will drop on Netflix, Lucifer showrunner Ildy Modrovich has promised fans a release date is coming soon… or in her words like soon, soon!

Responding to a fan’s confession that we need all the prayers we can get for Lucifer season 5 news, Modrovich promised fans the Lucifer season 5 premiere date is coming soon — emphasis on soon! Although she doesn’t directly hone in on any particular timeline for when the release date for season 5 will finally come, we have a few theories as to when exactly Netflix will finally show its hand.

Lucifer season 5 release date likely to be announced on June 6, 2020

While Modrovich was unable to divulge the exact date or timeline for when Netflix plans on announcing the season 5 premiere date, it’s starting to look more and more likely the announcement will come during the first week of June. More specifically, sometime during the hour of 6 pm ET on June 6.

Netflix has enjoyed playing with the Devil’s number of 666 both in their promotional materials and release information. Netflix notoriously made the season 4 announcement exactly 666 hours before the arrival of Lucifer season 4 and later announced the show’s renewal at 6:40 pm ET on June 6.

Of course, no one seems to know when exactly the season will arrive but with June 6 quickly approaching it is very possible the date could once again be used to drop the official release date for Lucifer season 5.

Given Modrovich’s insistence that a release date for Lucifer season 5 is coming very soon, we hopefully won’t have to wait much longer to find out when we can expect the first half of the season!
