With Riverdale season 4 coming to an early end due to the coronavirus pandemic, these major questions will likely go unanswered until season 5.

This March, production on Riverdale season 4 came to an abrupt pause as The CW and Warner Bros. assessed the developments connected with the coronavirus. Soon after production paused on Riverdale season 4, the decision was made to shut down production on dozens of TV shows including The CW’s various dramas — Riverdale included.

Due to the production shutdowns, filming was unable to be completed for the final episodes of Riverdale season 4. As a result, Riverdale season 4 will conclude earlier than originally planned with the show’s nineteenth episode serving as the show’s makeshift finale.

While it’s likely the creative time has come up with a way to end Riverdale season 4 with a cliffhanger of some kind, the unexpected end to the season is sure to result in a lack of resolution to several storylines and plot points introduced this season.

From the futures of Varchie and Bughead to how the show might address looming cast exits, there are many burning questions on the minds of Riverdale fans. Given the season’s early end, we’re taking a look at the biggest questions unlikely to be resolved or addressed by the Riverdale season 4 finale.
