Riverdale season 4: Questions likely to be left unanswered by finale

What’s the story behind Charles and Chic’s relationship? 

Since it was revealed that Betty’s half-brother Charles is romantically entangled with Chic, we’ve been anxiously waiting to learn more about the pair’s relationship. Following its introduction, the story thread has been placed on the back burner leaving us to stew over how the two came to know one another and what dastardly plan they might have in the works.

Unfortunately, with season 4 coming to an early end, it’s unlikely we’ll get any resolution to the storyline until season 5 — which will give us plenty of time to theorize about the backstory shared between the two characters.

Who is behind the strange videotapes terrorizing Riverdale? 

Of the questions on this list, this is the one most likely to be resolved in the makeshift finale. While the show would have originally had three additional episodes to tie the storyline up, there’s a chance the plan could have been to wrap this particular thread early in order to shift the focus on the gang’s upcoming graduation.

While it is possible the makeshift finale will provide clear confirmation on who is behind the strange videos, there is a large possibility the mystery will go unanswered until season 5. As a result, the writers might be forced to tie up loose ends in a one-off episode, similar to how they choose to wrap up the FARM storyline early in season 4.
