8. Will Aelswith definitely die?

It was hard to have sympathy for Aelswith at first considering everything that she’d done in the previous three seasons. Then just as we started to gain sympathy, she did something to remind us of her negative side. However, in the end, it was clear that she just wanted to do the right thing for Alfred’s dream, and that was to protect Aethelstan.

Unfortunately, that goes against Aethelhelm’s plans. After all, he wants his own grandson to sit on the throne. So, Aethelhelm decided to poison Aelswith.

The end of the season didn’t see Aelswith die, but she is certainly close to death. So far, everyone things that the Danes did something to her. Some may even think that she’s just suffering from some sort of illness. However, we know that she’s suffering from poisoning.

Will we find out during the season 5 premiere that she actually died? Everyone seems ready for this. It would be crazy for her to actually survive this considering nobody knows what happened and nobody has a cure.

At the same time, she pointed out that the poison was especially deadly to children. That hints that an adult could survive. So, could it be possible?
