9. Will Finan pluck up the courage to get the girl?

Eadith was certainly a character that initially divided us. The Last Kingdom knows how to write a character that you want to like but you also hate at the same time. However, the show (and the books) have always done well at creating complex characters.

Throughout the series, we’ve had Alfred, Brida, and eve Aelswith. These characters have been torn between whether they want to respect and trust Uhtred or not. Eadith is one that has us initially questioning her loyalties. She’s clearly out for herself, but that’s more to avoid going back to what she once was due to her father’s actions.

When push comes to shove, Eadith takes the side of Uhtred and his followers. She takes steps to protect the children. And that immediately makes her interesting to Osferth, Finan and others.

At first, it looked like there would be something between Osferth and Eadith. However, the end of The Last Kingdom season 4 makes it look like there will be something between Finan and Eadith. He clearly likes her but hasn’t got the courage to say anything yet.

Will he get the courage at some point? Will Eadith become a more integral part of the story as she develops her own feelings for Finan (you can tell they’re coming)?
