Lucifer season 5 is set to make history with the show’s longest single scene, which showrunner Joe Henderson has revealed will be an epic family dinner scene!

When it comes to Lucifer season 5, there are quite a few uncertainties surrounding the upcoming season of Netflix’s hit drama — including when the season will drop on Netflix and whether it will or will not be the show’s final season.

One thing that is for certain is that Lucifer season 5 will make series history!

As co-showrunner Joe Henderson recently revealed on Twitter, the upcoming fifth season of Lucifer will feature the show’s longest single scene to-date with a scene coming in at 11 minutes and 27 seconds in length. But wait, there’s more.

In addition to touting the scene’s length, Henderson took things a step further in teasing that the scene will involve a family dinner of some kind. Said family dinner will unfold in one room, took two days to film, and will be limited to the involvement of five actors from the show.

Lucifer season 5: Lucifer and God to sit down for family dinner?

Although, Henderson did not provide any info on which five characters might be featured in the Lucifer season 5 scene teased, the tease of the scene unfolding as a family dinner has quickly sparked speculation that we could be in for an epically tense dinner with Lucifer and the man upstairs: God.

While his arrival is unclear, we know that Lucifer’s estranged father will make his debut in Lucifer season 5 with actor Dennis Haysbert tapped to play the role of God. Given they’ve not spoken directly for years, a family dinner could be a great way to bring together the characters and we all know there’s no better time to confront old family grievances than over dinner!

If Lucifer were to break bread with God over dinner, it seems almost certain Chloe would be right by his side serving as a buffer of sorts between the two. Plus can you imagine how that meet-the-parent scenario would unfold given Lucifer and God’s tepid relationship?

As for who the other two characters joining the dinner scene might be.

The odds seem to be in favor of the final two seats being filled by Amenadiel and Linda, after all, Amenadiel is Lucifer’s brother and Linda recently gave birth to God’s grandchild. If this is a family dinner with God, we’d imagine the only guests in attendance would be his two sons and the women they love, which is sure to make for an unforgettable scene!
