Brianna’s PTSD and Stephen Bonnet

One name I did not want to hear again, unless Bree was talking about him in the process of her healing, is Stephen Bonnet.

I don’t think anyone could be worse than Black Jack Randall, but Bonnet definitely comes in second for me. I was really hoping he’d be gone for good after the prison explosion, but I just had a feeling that wasn’t the end of his story.

Lord John Grey delivers the unfortunate news to Jamie at the wedding. Although not confirmed, there may have been sightings of Stephen Bonnet, and unfortunately, Bree hears this. Brianna’s mood instantly changes as she’s brought back to the traumatic incident. We also see how she’s affected by it on her wedding night with Roger. Right after being together and Roger falling asleep, she’s still awake and haunted by the news.

While I don’t like to see Brianna in pain, I do appreciate the fact that the writers aren’t just moving on from this storyline. Right now, it seems like she has everything that would make her happy, including Roger, their son, little Jemmy and she’s settled with her parents and extended family.

The aftermath of being assaulted is not something we see a lot in television. This is a very strong storyline and whether Bonnet is actually alive or just living in her thoughts, we’re going to continue to see Brianna dealing with her PTSD.
