To All the Boys: PS: I Still Love you

The newest Netflix romantic comedy is the one thing you should absolutely watch this Valentine’s Day!

Of course, if you haven’t watched To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, you’re gonna have to start there! But Netflix has released the sequel to 2018’s hit just in time for Valentine’s 2020, because Netflix is smart and it knows what we want.

Now, this might seem like a movie geared towards teenagers and teenagers alone, and in many ways, it is. PS: I Still Love You continues the story of Lara Jean Covey and Peter Kavinsky, this time adding John Ambrose, another one of the love letter recipients, to the mix.

In case you need a refresher, the whole idea behind To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before is that Lara Jean writes love letters to her crushes, you know, to get over them. Except, you know, Lara Jean has a younger sister, and we all know how younger sisters, can be, so the letters find their way to their intended-but-not-intended recipients.

Disastrous but not the end of the world, you’d think. Except one of them is her older sister’s boyfriend, so of course, Lara Jean needs to recruit the help of Peter Kavinsky, another one of her former crushes. If he pretends to be her boyfriend, none of the other letter recipients will make a big deal, right?

Wrong.

And, of course, there are doubts, jealousy, and there’s a love triangle (ugh love triangles) and Lara Jean has to not just grow up, but figure out what she really wants. But throughout it all there’s also heart, and the comfort of family, and a truly heartwarming story not just about first love, but about making your own choices.
