BoJack Horseman

Back in September 2019, BoJack Horseman fans were shocked to learn that the sixth season would be the last. The first half of the season was released in November, and we’re waiting for the second half of episodes to drop in January 2020.

The decision to cancel this adult animation rests solely on Netflix. There were plenty of more stories to tell, and the creators wanted to keep this going. The only good thing to come from the news is that Netflix gave the creators some advanced warning. Unlike Anne with an E, the series is getting time to wrap up the storylines.

BoJack Horseman became the first Netflix series to land syndication on a cable network. It just shows the popularity behind the series, one that focuses on mental health, depression, and struggling with life. The characters are relatable, even if the lead is a talking horse! They’re real and grounded, bringing this series to life in a way that many other animations can’t.

It’s certainly a crying shame that the show has been canceled. At least the creators are working on other projects, with Undone on Amazon Prime certainly one worth checking out.

BoJack Horseman’s final episodes air Jan. 21, 2020.
