Rick and Morty season 4
Rick and Morty go on even more crazy adventures in all new episodes of Rick and Morty start Sunday, November 10th at 11:30pm ET/PT on Adult Swim. /

It’s always the worst-case scenario

Here’s the most important thing Rick and Morty fans can learn: nothing ever goes right on this show. Ever. One of the reasons it’s so funny is how wildly things spin out of control, week after week.

Already in Rick and Morty season 4, we’ve seen Morty get Rick killed—and then spend way too much time trying to get himself killed in the “right” future. Of course, fans found out he was totally off base. Meanwhile, Rick kept coming back only to end up in a bunch of fascist other realities.

And the latest episode had so many twists, turns and switchbacks that were just several levels of Rick’s scheme to crush Morty’s aspiration to be a famous screenwriter.

Either because the people around you are messing with you, or because you’re playing with forces beyond your control, things will not work out. And you’d better be prepared when they don’t.

If you aren’t, that’s how you end up leaving Jerryborree and wandering some sort of alien Skid Row. Or running away from a whole mob of people that are trying to kill you (or trying to make out with you, depending on the day).

Or ending up with a sentient arm that uses you to help exact revenge against the people who murdered its family. Or accidentally crushing a professional killer and freeing a space fart that wants to exterminate the human race.

Honestly, this whole show is a cautionary tale. But that’s what makes it so laugh out loud hilarious, because you wouldn’t see half of what’s on Rick and Morty on any other TV show. It takes everything to the next level, and we’re all more entertained for it.
