When is Lucifer season 5 coming to Netflix? We shared what we know (so far) about the final season of the Netflix original series.

Lucifer fans are waiting patiently for any news about the new season of the hit series. Below, we have list what we know so far about of one of Netflix’s most popular shows.

Lucifer season 5 is coming to Netflix soon!

Premiere Date

Lucifer season 5 is coming to Netflix in 2020. We still don’t know what date the season will be released, but at the time of publishing, it looks like spring 2020, likely May, will be the time we see new episodes of the series.

Unfortunately, season 5 will be the final season of the former Fox and current Netflix series. The season will be split into two, eight-episode parts. Those first episodes will likely be released in the spring, and the episodes from the second part will be added to Netflix shortly after.

Typically, the gap between two parts of the same season is about four to six months. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is also split into two parts for each season. The first part premiered in October 2018, while the second part was added to the streaming service in April 2019, which is a difference of about six months.

We should expect a similar gap for Lucifer season 5. If that happens, we should see the final episodes of Lucifer on Netflix by the end of 2020.

There’s a chance Netflix could stretch it out a little bit and save the final episodes for 2021. I don’t think that will happen, but it’s definitely possible.

Cast

The full cast of season 4, for the most part, should be returning for the final season. We’ll definitely see Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Aimee Garcia, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, D.B. Woodside, and Rachael Harris in the final season.

We’re also expecting to see Inbar Lavi, who starred as Eve in season 4, in the fifth season at some point. It’s also expected that Scarlett Estevez will also be back in season 5.

It’s been confirmed Tricia Helfer will return for season 5, as well. Good news! Matthew Bohrer is also joining the cast for the final season.

We’ll continue to update the cast of season 5 when we find out!

Episode Titles

The Lucifer Writers should be a must-follow on Twitter for any fans of the series. So far, they have revealed the first eight episode titles for the new season, and we’ve shared them all below!

Episode 1 – “Really Sad Devil Guy”
Episode 2 – “Lucifer! Lucifer! Lucifer!”
Episode 3 – “¡Diablo!”
Episode 4 – “It Never Ends Well for the Chicken”
Episode 5 – “Detective Amenadiel”
Episode 6 – “Bluballz”
Episode 7 – “Our Mojo”
Episode 8 – “Spoiler Alert”

What Happens Next

At the end of Lucifer season 4, Lucifer Morningstar decided to leave this world and return to Hell to rule. We don’t know how long he’ll stay there, but I think we’re all expecting him to return.

In season 5, it’s been confirmed Amenadiel will be taking a little trip down South to meet up with Lucifer. We don’t know when or why he is there, but it’s happening in the new season.

Obviously, at the end of the season, we also saw Chloe and Lucifer confess their love for one another. It will be interesting to see how this changes the dynamic between the characters in the series and how it affects them and their work moving forward.

Most of the season will revolve around that will-they-won’t-they, I’m guessing. There’s a lot more ground to cover with their relationship, or lack thereof, although I think I know what the fans are hoping for in the final season.

In the fourth episode of the season, we’re getting a musical noir episode! According to TV Guide, it’s filmed in black and white, and it’s set in the 1940s!

In episode 6, TV Line confirmed it will be the final Ladies Night Out, and Netflix just shared an image from the episode. We still don’t know the context of the image, but there are many things that could be happening. We have a few ideas, but we’ll save those for another time.

As mentioned, Lucifer season 5 will also be split into two parts. It seems likely that the first part of the season will focus on Lucifer returning from Hell. How long it takes and what happens will, then, dictate what happens in the final eight episodes of the series, which will, hopefully, be enough to wrap up this great series and all of its storylines.

We’ll let you know more about Lucifer season 5 when we find out! Stay tuned for more information!
