Look, we’re not in the habit of scraping the bottom of the barrel and recommending movies and shows no one wants to watch. But when we come across a title that’s coming to Netflix and it’s the perfect mixture of crazy premise and nostalgic cast, you’d better believe it’s replacing Rosemary’s Baby (for obvious reasons) and Emma Roberts’ Wild Child.

Netflix premieres its own slate of new original Christmas films this November, but Santa Girl might be the next best bet in the long list of secondary holiday films streaming throughout the month.

Santa Girl follows Cassie Claus (Jennifer Stone), the only daughter of Santa Claus (Barry Bostwick) makes her move to college before fulfilling her forced destiny of marrying the son of Jack Frost and taking over the family business. But she wants to experience the real world, away from the magic and wonder of Christmas. At college, she attempts to keep her powers, identity and famous father a secret from her classmates. Cassie starts to catch feelings for Sam (Devon Werkheiser), which complicates her impending to Santa Claus and Christmas.

If that plot doesn’t make you want to watch Santa Girl, you’re simply a Grinch. Although it sounds extraordinarily corny, it’s at least a different perspective on the usual holiday romantic comedy with a dash of traditional Christmas lore. It’s like First Daughter meets The Santa Clause, and who wouldn’t want to experience that?

What’s more, Santa Girl stars Wizards of Waverly Place star Jennifer Stone and Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide star Devon Werkheiser, amounting to a ’00s tween’s dream. Have a little fun this holiday with Santa Girl when it begins streaming at the top of the month.
