Stranger Things 4 officially renewed with eerie announcement

After many teasers and hints, Netflix has made it official, Stranger Things 4 is happening, but viewers may not find themselves in Hawkins anymore.

Chills. Chills, everywhere! That’s what Stranger Things fans are experiencing after catching Netflix’s official season 4 renewal announcement via an eerie clip teaser (which you can check out, below). We were all expecting news about what’s to come to arrive soon after the official Twitter account for the horror-drama changed its look.

The account’s photo featured a clock tower if you look closely. All of us at Netflix Life excitedly began to speculate what it could all mean. The release date? Is production starting soon? What we got is even better: An official announcement and the huge teaser that Hawkins may be long gone when we see our favorite group of teenagers next.

Throughout the first three seasons of Stranger Things, we’ve seen snippets or the Upside Down world, but will season 4 officially take us there? That’s what it’s looking like!

But wait, there’s more! According to the press release, not only has Netflix renewed one of their biggest hits, but have also signed series creators and showrunners The Duffer Brothers to a multi-year film and series overall deal. Here’s what they shared in the release:

"“The Duffer Brothers have captivated viewers around the world with Stranger Things and we’re thrilled to expand our relationship with them to bring their vivid imaginations to other film and series projects our members will love,” said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer, Netflix. “We can’t wait to see what The Duffer Brothers have in store when they step outside the world of The Upside Down.”"

We absolutely can’t wait to see what other chills and thrills The Duffer Brothers have in store for us. In the meantime, let’s begin to speculate further on what the official announcement video is teasing.

To defeat the threat, will Eleven and her friends need to journey to the Upside Down? Worse yet, will they be forced there or taken? Also, what’s with the clock tower? Is Hopper alive?!
