24. Disenchantment, season 2

Premiere date: Sept. 20

Disenchantment is a strange case. Though it was one of the most anticipated animated series on Netflix last year, it failed to attract much of an audience once it premiered. It does still have a decent fan following with audiences, but let’s not get started on how much critics hated on it. Still, the hard-drinking princess Bean has more stories to tell. Not to mention, Netflix ordered 20 episodes, anyway, to be released in two parts with 10 episodes in each.

Oh, but there’s more in store than these 20 episodes. Disenchantment reportedly received multiple season orders that sees the series running until at least 2021. Now, can I go on a mini-rant here and ask how come Santa Clarita Diet was canceled, but not this series? No? Fine!

Another reason you may want to watch, especially if you tuned in for the first part of the animated fantasy series, is that cliffhanger of a finale! How can we turn away after that? No spoilers ahead, this is a safe place, but if you have already watched the first part, you might as well finish what you started. And hey, at least series creator Matt Groening is teasing improvement and more “cranked-up suspense, infuriating plot twists” to come. That sounds promising.

Have a look at the trailer above and let us know what you think! Will you be watching the second season when it arrives Sept. 20?
