Disney announced three new Marvel shows for Disney Plus: Moon Knight, She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel at D23 2019.

Disney just announced three new Marvel shows coming, exclusively, to Disney Plus. Moon Knight, She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel are officially coming to Disney Plus in the future. The news was announced during Disney’s Disney Plus panel at D23 in Anaheim.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news about Ms. Marvel prior to the announcement.

All three will be live-action original shows for the new Disney streaming service, coming Nov. 12. Those shows won’t stream at that time; they’ll come to Disney Plus down the road.

We don’t know much about these shows. Those details will probably come later, but we do know about their history in the Marvel comics.

Moon Knight tells the story of Marc Spector, a man with multiple alter egos who becomes a vigilante of sorts. There are a variety of ways Marvel could choose to tell Moon Knight’s story. This will probably be the darkest of the three new shows.

Ms. Marvel, on the other hand, will follow Kamala Khan, a teenager from Jersey City who has powers that allow her to manipulate the size and shape of her body. Of the three announced shows, this is the one I’m most excited for.

She-Hulk will follow Bruce Banner’s cousin, Jennifer Walters, who is exposed via blood transfusion and becomes She-Hulk, according to THR. Hopefully, this means we’ll get to see Mark Ruffalo in this series!

This is a little bittersweet for the Marvel-Netflix fans like me. There was a lot of hope that these three shows could be in the works at Netflix when Daredevil and the rest of those shows were going strong. Now, that hope is long gone, and that’s mostly Disney’s fault. They were always going in the direction of Disney Plus, especially after Netflix proved the business model could work and pushed the limits of what’s possible in home entertainment.

If there was any doubt that Marvel fans will subscribe to Disney Plus, that’s long gone now. We know all the new Marvel movies will be available to stream, along with the full Marvel Studios vault. We knew there were a few new Marvel shows in the works with Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, WandaVision, Hawkeye and more.

With these three shows, and everything just mentioned, you just have to get a Disney Plus subscription to keep up with everything happening in the MCU. It’s the perfect way to approach this for Disney and Marvel. They need fans to sign up for this content, and this content blitz is what they need to do to make that happen.

Disney Plus launches on Nov. 12, 2019. It doesn’t sound like these shows will be released any time soon on Disney Plus.
