Riverdale season 4 has found Archie’s new nemesis

Riverdale has found a new nemesis for Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) in season 4. Juan Riedinger will play Dodger in Riverdale season 4!

Archie Andrews has a new nemesis in Riverdale season 4. According to a report from Deadline, Juan Riedinger will play Dodger, a new character in the upcoming season.

We don’t know a lot about Dodger from the report, other than the fact that he is Archie’s new nemesis. Netflix fans will recognize Riedinger from his role in Netflix’s Narcos. We should find out more information in the near future. Based on Riedinger’s age, we know a few things, though. Surely, he is not a student at Riverdale High. Riedinger is 38 years old.

That means that Dodger is likely an adult in the community. Based on Archie’s behavior in the first few seasons, I’m sure it wouldn’t take much for someone to be upset by his actions. That might be what happens with Dodger. I’m hoping they meet in the boxing world or something like that.

According to TheWrap, Dodger is a “local thug.”

I have to say I’m a little bummed about Archie having another nemesis in season 4. In the first season, Archie was, rather, nemesis-less. Instead, much of his focus was on his future with music, football and the like. In season 2, that’s where things kind of went off the rails for Archie, and that train has not found their way back on the tracks.

In season 2, Archie became enemies with the Black Hood (sort of!), but mostly, Archie’s nemesis in the season was Hiram Lodge, and that battle continued throughout season 2 and into season 3 with Hiram framing Archie for murder.

In season 3, though, Archie was eventually able to bury the hatchet, so to speak, with Hiram, but that was after Hiram tried to have Archie killed with the Red Paladin cards and quest in Gryphons & Gargoyles.

Warden Norton, for a part of season 3, would also be considered another of Archie’s enemies.

I was really hoping Archie might catch a little break in season 3. When I asked KJ Apa about Archie catching a break in the new season at San Diego Comic Con, he joked that he was hoping creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa would send Archie to Hawaii in season 4.

Archie’s been through a lot in the first three seasons. He deserves to have a little break from all the madness. Hopefully, that happens a little bit in season 4, but based on what we know about the new season, I don’t think it’s going to happen. Poor Archie!

We don’t know when to expect Dodger’s introduction in Riverdale season 4. We’ll keep you posted on the status of his arrival in Riverdale when we find out.
