In this day and age of reboots, revivals, remakes, and sequels, anything and everything is on the table to make a grand, modern comeback. While hit series like Will & Grace and Veronica Mars are seemingly obvious choices for return trips to the zeitgeists, others aren’t exactly on the radar (looking directly at you, Mad About You). One such reboot of sorts is Netflix’s The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, a prequel of the 1980s cult classic film from Jim Henson.

Taking place in the world of Thra from the 1982 film The Dark Crystal, the upcoming prequel centers on three Gelflings named Rian (Taron Egerton), Brea (Anya Taylor-Joy), and Deet (Nathalie Emmanuel) as they drum up a rebellion against the Skeksis. After the trio discover the group’s power and motives, they must help save their world of Thra from the threat of their enemies. The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance finds the Gelflings embarking on an epic and enchanting journey that fans of the film will fall in love with all over again.

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance comes from director Louis Leterrier, who helmed such films as The Incredible Hulk, Clash of the Titans, Now You See Me, and The Transporter. The 1982 film holds a 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and turned a profit at the box office with a $41 million gross against a $25 million budget. Before the 10-episode prequel series makes its premiere at the end of the month, be sure to check out the film on Netflix. You don’t want to miss either.
