The highly anticipated second season of Netflix’s stalker psychological drama You began production earlier this year and is most probably releasing this fall!

After scaring the audience on Lifetime, You premiered on Netflix in December last year, and it has felt like a really long time since then. Fans have been looking forward to Joe Goldberg’s return for which feels like forever but it looks like the waiting period is finally coming to an end.

According to The SunYou season 2 is expected to be released this fall, or sometime around September or October. The production of You season 2 began earlier this year and is probably in post-production currently. While an official release date has not been revealed by Netflix, The Sun reported the show is coming around Halloween.

Just like before, You season 2 is believed to have 10 episodes and the bookstore manager we all have a love-hate relationship with is all set to return. Penn Badgley is playing the creepy stalker once again, Joe Goldberg, and we can’t wait to see which hidden skeletons will pop out of his closet now.

Season 2 will have Joe moving to LA from New York, but his past life will keep haunting him. Sera Gamble, the showrunner, revealed in a recent Cosmopolitan interview that the upcoming installment will explore Joe’s mysterious early life and his terrible childhood.

Also, his ex-ex girlfriend Candace might not be really dead as Ambyr Childers is returning as a regular on the show. Elizabeth Lail, aka our beloved Beck, and Peach Salinger i.e. Shay Mitchell are dead for good and won’t be spotted in season 2.

Instead, Joe will have a new victim Love Quinn, which will be played by Haunting of Hill House‘s Victoria Pedretti, who is also returning for Haunting‘s second season, Bly Manor.

According to Netflix, Quinn is a chef who likes to stay low and away from social media, meaning getting to her is going to be a real task for Joe.

Other actors part of season 2’s cast are Jenna Ortega from Jane the Virgin, Gotham‘s Robin Lord Taylor, and James Scully from Heathers, and Russian Doll’s Charlie Barnett. Will you be watching? If Netflix is really releasing the show this September-October, we should see a trailer/teaser soon!

Here’s to hoping Netflix confirms You season 2’s release date soon!
