The Simpsons will spoof Stranger Things for its 666th episode

The Simpsons Halloween Special is returning this year on the occasion of its 30th anniversary and to celebrate the same, Bart and Lisa will travel to The Upside Down!

2019 is proving to be the year of Stranger Things and we are so not complaining! The Simpsons’ ‘Treehouse of Horror XXX’ is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year which is coincidentally going to be their 666th episode and to make it more dramatic, they will be spoofing the most popular Netflix show!

According to CNET, the Halloween segment will be a parody of all three seasons of Stranger Things. The poster of the special horror episode is out as well and it features Lisa as Eleven, Chief Wiggum as Hopper, Martin as Lucas, Bart as Mike, and Nelson as Dustin, spoofing Stranger Thing‘s poster of season 1.

The episode will be called “Danger Things” and it will have the Simpson kids explore the Upside Down. Recently, fans were given a sneak peek of Treehouse of Horror at the San Diego Comic-Con and it reportedly had a bald Lisa play Eleven, trying to rescue Milhouse who was teleported to another dimension called ‘The Over-Under’ instead of ‘The Upside Down.’ Yes, please!

Treehouse of Horror XXX will also be parodying famous Horror films The Exorcist and The Omen. Sounds like something you wouldn’t wanna miss? Catch the scary 666th episode on Fox this Oct. 20.

As far as the renewal status of Stranger Things is concerned, according to Production Weekly’s report, season 4 is scheduled to begin production this October, which hints at a possible late 2020 release. However, Netflix is yet to officially announce the season renewal. It usually takes the streaming site about a month or two before they reveal a show’s future.

And, keeping in mind that Stranger Things is the BIGGEST show on Netflix right now, we believe we are going to hear that renewal news soon. Watch this space for updates!
