As we predicted, Stranger Things is moving ahead with its FOURTH season and the gang is returning to take us to the Upside Down once again. Are you ready?

After eight AMAZING episodes, Stranger Things season 3 left us all wanting for more, obsessing over the cliffhangers, impatiently waiting for that renewal news. And, while Netflix is yet to officially renew the science-fiction horror show for another season, be assured that a fourth season is indeed happening, and quite soon!

According to Production Weekly’s report, Stranger Things season 4 is scheduled to begin production this October, which hints at a possible late 2020 release! Yes, please!

And well, producer and director, Shawn Levy has already said in an interview that season 4 will definitely happen. He told Collider:

"“I mean I will say we have a good sense of stuff that happens in Season Four. Season Four is definitely happening. There’s very much the possibility of a season beyond that one.”"

Usually, Netflix takes about a month or two to officially announce a show’s renewal status and keeping in mind that season 3 only released this July 4, we will have to wait a little while to finally hear from the streaming giant.

What can we expect from season 4? Co-creator Ross Duffer has revealed that the writers are in early discussions for now but they have an idea planned up.

"“We don’t know a lot, but we do know a lot of the big broad strokes. At the end of season two, we knew about Billy. We knew that the Russians were going to come in. We didn’t know the mall and stuff, but again, we know these big broad strokes. That’s sort of where we are in season four. We have the big broad strokes. It’s just now about filling in those lines in the details. We’re pretty excited about where it’s potentially going to go. Again, like we said, it’s going to feel very different than this season. But I think that’s the right thing to do and I think it’ll be exciting.”"

Starring Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Dacre Montgomery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, Cary Elwes, Jake Busey, and Francesca Reale, Stranger Things season 3 took us back to summer ’85 in Hawkins where we witnessed some serious character development, plot twists, and of course, creepy otherworldly creatures.

Premiered in 2016, Stranger Things‘ fanbase is only growing bigger day by day and with season 3, the viewer ratings went above the roof.  Within just the first four days, the show was watched by more than 40 million households, breaking Netflix’s viewing record. The streaming giant calls it a ‘view’ when somebody watches 70% of a film or a show. Also, since the numbers are based on households and individuals, we can never know for sure how many people watched it. But, we can certainly get a glimpse of how popular Stranger Things is!
