13. Workin’ Moms

Cast: Catherine Reitman, Dani Kind, Juno Rinaldi, Jessalyn Wanlim

Synopsis: Just as the title suggests, Workin’ Moms follows a group of friends who are new to the mom life and are handling the new duties as best as they can. Spoiler alert – the best isn’t always working out for them.

Why you need to watch: The comedy-drama Workin’ Moms comes from our dear friends in Canada. The show premiered on CBC TV and thanks to Netflix streaming it, the rest of us are able to enjoy it. And there are plenty of reasons to watch!

Obviously, you’ll find yourself relating to the comedy more and be able to laugh along if you actually are a working mom, but the series welcomes anyone to it.

Watch the lives of four new moms go from bliss to hectic as their maternity leave comes to an end, the struggle to return to work is real, to say the least. But even heading back to work doesn’t mean you can clock out of your mom duties. And ladies, if you’re not a mom, there’s still a lot to learn watching this comedy! Workin’ Moms tackles many topics such as postpartum depression, but also women in the workplace, playing the “dumb” card, and self-confidence.

Currently, only one season is streaming on Netflix, but the season 2 premiere is only days away! Meanwhile, at CBC TV, season 3 premiered earlier this year, so expect at least another season to follow once you’re done binging the first two. It’s always good to know a series is still in the works before you begin watching.

If this summer you find yourself with only time to take on one or two shows, know that Workin’ Moms is a quick, yet satisfying binge. Workin’ Moms consists of 13 episodes per season, but they are each nothanger that 25 minutes. Catch up on all the episodes available before the new season drops July 25!
