In Season 5, Episode 6 of Fear The Walking Dead, Jim Brauer played a key part in getting the plane parts to Alicia’s group. What’s peculiar is he did so from beyond the grave.

Before fans start berating us with comments on how Jimbo (Aaron Stanford) died in Season 4 of Fear The Walking Dead, we know that. He did, however, find a way to help from beyond the grave in “The Little Prince”.

Technically speaking, Jim didn’t really help out — he just sort of got robbed by Sarah (Mo Collins) and Wendell (Daryl Mitchell). But it was the boxes they stole that held the components for a hot-air balloon — one that Jim himself used to promote his beer.

Surprisingly, Charlie (Alexa Nissenson) comes to this realization when she looks at the poster for Augie Ale which contains a graphic of the balloon. Neither Sarah or Wendell had any idea about the balloon packed away in Jim’s old stuff, though that’s probably a good thing. If they did, who knows what they would’ve done with it. Fortunately, the hot-air balloon comes in handy when the group really needs it.

For Jimbo, that meant he got one final opportunity to shine with his beer balloon taking flight. The blimp might not seem like a big deal, but in the apocalypse, signs of the old world returning give survivors hope again. Jimbo’s balloon was a perfect example.

Both Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) and Morgan (Lennie James) acknowledge how the seemingly innocuous airship is something the kids should see. Alicia calls Annie (Bailey Gavulic) outside to watch the dirigible fly over but she and her friends are already gone at this point.

Regardless, the Augie Ale blimp flying in the sky does signify that the world is getting better. There are still major issues like massive hordes and unstable nuclear reactors to contend with, but that doesn’t mean the world won’t return to its’ former glory at some point. We know all of this thanks to Jim Brauer.
