The Simpsons: Synopsis for season 31 premiere reveals intriguing plot points

The Simpsons won’t return for its thirty-first season until September but a synopsis for the premiere has already been released. Check out our breakdown of the episode description below.

In case you’re like many Simpsons enthusiasts who just can’t get enough of the animated series, then you’ll be happy to know that Fox has already released an episode synopsis for the Season 31 premiere of The Simpsons. It’s still a few months away but we should already start thinking about what the newest season will entail.

The reason we’re so intrigued by the plot synopsis for Season 31, Episode 1 “The Incredible Lightness of Being A Baby” is that it sounds like Maggie will finally play a bigger part on the show. She’s made sparse appearances in the past, contributing to various subplots, but the youngest member of the Simpson family has yet to truly make an impact.

What’s different about Season 31 is the premiere episode will center around Maggie experiencing love problems. Now, the young girl hasn’t rapidly grown into a teenager or anything like that but she’s found a boy to crush on. The synopsis confirms as much, though Marge isn’t too thrilled about Maggie’s new love. Check out the synopsis below.

"“Maggie becomes depressed when Marge forbids her from playing with her new crush, all because Marge doesn’t get along with the boy’s mother; Mr. Burns tasks Homer with stealing Kletus’ helium mine.”"

As you can see from the episode description, Maggie has grown up a bit between Season 30 and Season 31. She hasn’t aged but she’s definitely maturing, evidenced by her newfound interests in boys.

Unfortunately, Maggie now has to contend with an overprotective mother preventing her from being with the boy she likes. How that will play out is anyone’s guess but Marge has shown she’s a reasonable person in the past. Therefore, it goes to reason that Marge and the unnamed boy’s mother will come to an accord eventually.
