Will the Gargoyle King return? What happens on spring break? We have 7 big questions heading into Riverdale season 4. Spoilers ahead for season 3!

Riverdale is coming back for season 4 this fall, and we have some big questions after watching the Riverdale season 3 finale.

The finale capped off Riverdale’s craziest season yet, and it gave viewers a glimpse of the future. By design, the finale answered many of our questions about the season, but it also presented many more questions than it actually answered.

If you haven’t seen season 3, make sure you check it out on Netflix. The full season was added to the streaming service on May 23, and the first three seasons of the series are now streaming on Netflix.

Let’s get to these questions, starting with the Archie Andrews!

Will Archie catch a break?

Archie has been Riverdale’s punching bag since season 1. In season 2, he watched his dad almost die at the hand of the Black Hood, and that’s where the problems started. He was manipulated into starting a gang war, basically, by Hiram Lodge, and then he almost became part of the mob family.

Then, he spent most of season 3 dealing with a murder charge, in an underground fight club at the detention center, on the run, and almost killed by the Gargoyle King, Hiram and a bear! I’m probably even forgetting a few traumatizing moments for the young man. Hopefully, in season 3, Archie can kind of catch a break.

In a few ways, Archie’s journey reminds me a lot of Will Byers from Stranger Things. Of course, there are many differences in their stories, but both characters are frequently in the most danger in their respective shows. I’m just really hoping the writers ease up on both characters and give them time to become acclimated to a normal life.

Obviously, Archie probably won’t catch a break. The show still hasn’t acknowledged the death of Luke Perry, who plays Archie’s father Fred in the series. If the show kills off Fred, Archie will suffer more in the new season.

On top of that, we have already seen the flash forward to spring break of senior year. Archie, covered in blood, tosses Jughead’s hat into a fire. Did Archie kill his best friend? We’ll get to that soon!
