Is the Gargoyle King gone?

This is a very important question, and I think it will determine the future of the series. We don’t know the fallout of the season finale, but I’m assuming Penelope Blossom won’t be hanging out in Riverdale to just be arrested by the FBI or FP and company.

So, what happens next?

Well, first of all, I don’t think she will disappear from the series. We know she wasn’t killed in the finale, and since this is Riverdale, any villain that’s still alive will return. We’ve already seen Chic, The Black Hood, and more come back.

I’m guessing Penelope will be on the run in the new season. She’ll have to leave Riverdale, or she’ll hideout in one of her many properties. She’s the real villain in season 3, and her wrath is far from finished.

So, is the Gargoyle King actually gone? I don’t think so. We’ve probably met the Gargoyle King from the original Midnight Club’s ascension night, but it hasn’t been revealed who Penelope was working with back then, or if it was even all her idea. We still don’t really know all that yet.

I don’t know if something like Gryphons and Gargoyles will ever go away in a town like Riverdale, but I don’t think it will take center stage like it did in season 3. The game will be played, but Penelope will have a much harder time asserting her influence over the town.

Riverdale, so far, has come full circle to include all the important happenings, so it would be foolish to think the Gargoyle King and Penelope don’t play a role in the future of the show.
