Stranger Things 3: First official clip shows Billy on lifeguard duty

Netflix shared the first clip from Stranger Things 3, which features Billy on lifeguard duty while Mrs. Wheeler and some other ladies watch him take the stand.

Netflix and Stranger Things just shared the first clip from Stranger Things 3! This is no trailer; it’s actually a scene from Stranger Things 3, and it features Billy (Dacre Montgomery) taking charge as lifeguard of the Hawkins pool.

Mrs. Wheeler, played by Cara Buono, and a group of her friends watch on as the new character and lifeguard, Heather, played by Francesca Reale, ends her shift as lifeguard. And, that’s when Billy, rocking a sporty whistle, aviators, and no shirt, takes over his shift to the delight of the ladies.

The clip features the caption “Summer is coming,” which is an obvious reference to the Game of Thrones slogan “Winter is coming.” Obviously, Game of Thrones ended on Sunday night, and this is Netflix’s way of kicking off the summer of Stranger Things!

There is so much to like about this new clip. Summer in Hawkins is a completely different look than the fall and winter that we’ve seen in the first two seasons. And, with the show moving up a year since the events of the second season, the styles of 1985 are much different than when we last saw the series.
