Avengers Endgame is coming to Disney Plus in December

Disney announced the official release date for Avengers Endgame on Disney Plus, the new streaming service. Unfortunately, the film will not be available on the launch date.

Avengers Endgame is coming to Disney Plus, Disney’s new streaming service, sooner than we thought. We knew the film would be added to the streaming service this year, but we didn’t know it’d be so soon to the launch date.

According to a report from The Verge, Endgame will be available to stream on Disney Plus on Dec. 11, 2019. The streaming service launches on Nov. 12, so you only have to wait about a month after the streaming service launches to stream the new Marvel movie. Originally, I thought the film would be on the streaming service around Christmas Day, so I missed it by two weeks.

As expected, Endgame will be an exclusive release on Disney Plus. You won’t be able to watch the movie on any other streaming service.

We don’t know much because it will be one of the first new movies to come to Disney Plus after its launch, but Endgame, most certainly, will be released on Blu-ray a few months before it is added to the streaming service. Disney still has to make its money, of course.

Endgame was originally supposed to be released on Netflix. Disney and Netflix agreed to a deal that was supposed to bring all the new Disney, Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar movies to Netflix from 2016 to 2020. Disney, instead, decided to end that agreement early to start Disney Plus.

There are still a bunch of Disney movies on Netflix. You can watch the five most recent Marvel movies, except Captain Marvel and Endgame. These include Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok, Ant-Man and the Wasp and Avengers: Infinity War. Unfortunately, no new Disney or Marvel movies will be added to Netflix. They’ll be headed to Disney Plus from here on out.

Captain Marvel will be added to Disney Plus when the streaming service launches on Nov. 12.

Endgame was one of my favorite movies I’ve seen in the last few years. While I don’t agree with everything they did in the film, it was a great ending for the 22-movie story arc. It definitely sets up a new era for Marvel, and that’s really exciting for comic fans.

Disney and Marvel are making so much money right now. It’s guaranteed that they will try to do something similar with the next era of Marvel movies.
