There’s a great movie coming to Netflix tonight! Amy Poehler’s Wine Country premieres at midnight PT on Friday, May 10. If you live on the West Coast and are staying up until midnight tonight, you can watch the new Netflix original comedy then!

Wine Country is Poehler’s feature film directorial debut, and the script for the film was written by Emily Spivey and Liz Cackowski. Poehler also stars in the film, which features a great cast. Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, Paula Pell, Ana Gasteyer, Tina Fey, Jason Schwartzman, and more. I told you it was a great cast!

In the film, a group of friends travels to the Napa Valley for a 50th birthday celebration. Things are not going to go as planned!

I have high hopes for Wine Country. I think it could be one of Netflix’s best comedies yet, and with such a great team of funny women making this movie, I think there’s a good chance it will be one of the best Netflix movies we’ve seen so far.

Of course, it won’t have the high stakes of some Netflix movies, especially their more successful ones, but the streaming network is carving out a space in the comedy genre. So far, they’ve focused more on the romantic comedies, and they’ve struck gold on a couple of those, like Set It Up, The Kissing Booth, and To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. Wine Country should be better than all those movies, and I think it will be even more popular than those movies as well.

Poehler and Fey have a huge fanbase with the success of their movies, Parks and Recreation and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which is coming back for an interactive special finale at Netflix. With so many Saturday Night Live alums in the movie, any SNL fans will want to give this movie a watch on the streaming service.
