The great thing about Netflix dropping all kinds of new original series on the same day is that if you’re not into one, you can always watch the other. But if you’re interested in both, than it’s all the better. There’s no such thing as too much TV… until your watch list is impossibly piled up. On the same day as the final season premiere of Easy, the new mystery drama series The Society also premieres, and it’s without a doubt one of the best and most intriguing new release shows coming this May.

From Party of Five co-creator Christopher Keyser, The Society is something of a modern take on Lord of the Flies. The series centers on a group of teenagers, led by Big Little Lies and Blockers star Kathryn Newton as Allie, who are strangely transported to a duplicate of their small New England town, though their parents are nowhere to be found. Through it all, the group bands to figure out what has happened to them and how to get home, forcing them to form alliances in the name of survival.

The Society, of course, comes from veteran television producer Christopher Keyser, who with his writing partner Amy Lippman created the series Party of Five, Significant Others (starring Jennifer Garner), and Time of Your Life (a Party of Five spin-offs based on Jennifer Love Hewitt’s character). Clearly, Keyser knows who to create addictive shows and also stars. The Society fits in perfectly with the binge-watch format of Netflix and is sure to be a crowd-pleaser for everyone eager for a new mystery to dive into. Don’t miss the 10-episode first season when it bows on May 10.
